As a follow up to a previous interview with Jesse Dorris of Interior Design, Erla Dögg Ingjaldsdóttir and Tryggvi Thorsteinsson shared mention of a story which touched our hearts at a time when the world needs kindness the most.

Featured below is a photo of our GRASSsit stools alongside a quote from this Q&A, in which a supplier in China had reached out to us once they had the virus under control and offered to donate 100 masks, in turn we donated these to workers in our field and our local hospital in Santa Monica. Kindness truly is a chain reaction. When we perform an act of kindness, not only does it impact the people who witness it by improving their mood and making them more likely to reciprocate, it improves our own health and wellness, by making us feel good about our actions. We can only hope for the world to become more human and those around us to continue spreading love in more ways than one. Pay it forward. We know we will.

“This is a situation in which you have to find people who inspire you and ways to be creative with what’s around you at the time. It’s only been a month or so, but it can feel like it’s been at least half a year. But architects and designs have to tackle every aspect of what happens in society, so we have to find out what our answer is to this problem. We bought these chairs from China late last year, a basis for a prototype we’re designing. After China got control of the situation, the makers emailed us and asked if they could send us a hundred masks. It was so beautiful. You feel that it’s so sweet.” - Tryggvi Thorsteinsson
